I am a wife, mother, grandmother and soon to be great grandmother who had a 25 year career with the Department of Veterans Affairs and taught at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology for 10 years.
I enjoy fishing with my husband, gardening and canning the vegetables we grow.
There was a time in my life that come every seasonal change I was sick. The seasonal cold always turned into at least bronchitis if not pneumonia. Little did I know that the air outside was not the only air contributing to my illness, but also the air INSIDE my home.
Yes, I have been guilty of using toxic cleaners to clean my home and clothing; I put toxic chemicals in my hair and on my body; and I was NOT taking care of the body God entrusted to me.
While I am still not perfect. I am doing much better and taking better care of myself and my family. I no longer use toxic chemicals in my home and I don't wear toxic chemicals on my body or on my clothing.
Yes, I still catch the occasional cold and deal with other physical challenges, I have not gotten bronchitis or pneumonia since changing my lifestyle.
I've also learned the value of keeping my emotions intact. Did you know your emotions play a large part in your physical condition? If you don't believe me, Google that! When we let ourselves get over-stressed (which is way too common and can happen without our even realizing what's going on), it plays havoc with our immune system.
I hope to lead others in whatever lifestyle changes they are willing to make in order to lead happier, healthier lives.
